Texas Capitol, Austin, Texas Proposal // Charlotte & Nick

Charlotte and Nick are engaged!!!! Charlotte and Nick’s relationship officially began the day Charlotte and I became Facebook friends. After many hints from Charlotte to Nick on who would be best to photograph this occasion, I’m happy and honored that I was able to! The day began early with the friend crew setting up on a bench at the Texas Capitol while Nick and Charlotte drove in to Austin from San Antonio. Nick’s parents stopped by to give the setup a test run, and deemed it ready to go. With friends and family in their hiding spots, Nick and Charlotte made there way to the bench. Nick read his heartfelt note to Charlotte, and together they sang a song in worship. And of course, Nick asked the all important question to Charlotte which she responded yes to. Family and friends popped out of hiding to congratulate them and give hugs. Lots of hugs.

Austin, Texas Proposal at the Capitol // Ariel & Sam

With the help of Ariel's family, Sam successfully surprised Ariel with his proposal at the Texas State Capitol last week!

In 2008, Ariel and Sam carved their names into a railing at the Texas State Capitol. Sam proposed at the same spot 9 years later. To pull this off, Ariel's sister claimed that two budding photographers (Sami and myself) needed models and Ariel was needed. During the photoshoot, Sam appeared with the rest of Ariel's family (which were supposedly in Dallas) and proposed. I'm so happy I got to capture Ariel and Sam's engagement. This family is so sweet, and even invited Sami and me to brunch at Josephine's House (highly recommend their bread and pastries).

One of my favorites from this session is the picture of Ariel realizing everyone had been lying to her for months. Her mom responded to her saying it was quite uncomfortable. I adore how this whole family worked hard to make this special day happen.
